Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 1 April 2026

1. Overview

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the website at www.custom3dprint.co.uk and any services provided by Custom 3D Print (“we”, “us”, “our”), based in Swadlincote, Derbyshire, United Kingdom. By submitting a quote request, placing an order, or using this website, you agree to these Terms.

2. Quote requests and orders

Submitting a quote request does not constitute a binding order. An order is only formed when:

  • You have received and reviewed our written quote
  • You have confirmed in writing (by email) that you wish to proceed
  • We have confirmed acceptance and the order is underway

We reserve the right to decline any quote request without obligation to provide a reason.

3. Pricing and payment

All prices quoted are in GBP (pounds sterling) and include VAT where applicable. Quoted prices are valid for 14 days from the date of the quote unless otherwise stated. Delivery costs are shown separately in the quote. Payment terms will be stated in the quote or agreed prior to commencement of work. We reserve the right to require payment or deposit prior to commencing printing.

4. Files and intellectual property

By uploading a 3D model file or other design file, you confirm that:

  • You own or have the right to use the file for printing purposes
  • The file does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, patents, trademarks, or copyrights
  • You grant us a limited licence to use the file solely for the purpose of fulfilling your order

We do not retain your files beyond what is necessary to fulfil the order. We do not reproduce, sell, or share your files with any third party except where required by law. You retain full intellectual property ownership of files you submit.

We will not knowingly print items that infringe third-party intellectual property rights. We reserve the right to refuse orders that we reasonably believe involve infringement.

5. Suitability and limitations of FDM printing

Our parts are produced using FDM (fused deposition modelling) technology. By placing an order, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • FDM-printed parts have visible layer lines and surface texture inherent to the process
  • Dimensional accuracy is typically ±0.2 mm for well-prepared files, but varies with geometry, material, and orientation
  • FDM parts are not certified for safety-critical, structural, medical, electrical, food contact, pressure-vessel, or regulated applications
  • Material performance is general guidance only and not a specification or guarantee of fitness for purpose for any specific application
  • Parts produced are not OEM items and are not tested to any manufacturer specification
  • It is your responsibility to verify suitability for your intended application before use

6. Delivery

Estimated dispatch dates are given at quote stage and are estimates only — not guaranteed dates. We take reasonable steps to meet stated dispatch dates but are not liable for delays outside our reasonable control (material availability, postal service delays, equipment issues). Risk in the goods passes to you on dispatch. We are not responsible for loss or damage in transit once items have been handed to the carrier, except where we have failed to pack items with reasonable care.

7. Returns and refunds

As custom-made items, 3D-printed parts are generally not eligible for return or refund simply because they are not required. We will, however, remake or refund where:

  • A part has been produced with a significant error that is our fault (not a file error)
  • The part differs materially from what was quoted and agreed
  • The part arrives in a condition making it unfit for any use

Claims must be raised within 7 days of receipt with clear photographic evidence. We may ask for the part to be returned before issuing a replacement or refund.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with any order shall not exceed the price paid for that specific order. We are not liable for:

  • Loss of profit, revenue, or business opportunity
  • Indirect or consequential loss
  • Any loss arising from your use of the part in an application for which it is not suitable
  • Any loss arising from a file error you submitted

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Acceptable use of this website

You must not use this website to submit requests for items that are illegal, infringe intellectual property rights, are designed for harm, or breach any applicable law. We reserve the right to refuse service at our sole discretion.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continued use of the website or placement of orders following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
